This book is The Adventures of Ebenezer Fox in the Revolutional War, by Mr. Fox himself and illustrated with engravings.  It is the spirited tale of Ebenezer Fox's life, in his own words, from his meager beginnings in 1770 as a farmhand of age 7 through his service at the end of the American Revolution in 1783. The described incidents of the war are both entertaining and historical as presented through the author's firsthand experience including early life, as a cabin boy, a replacement soldier, and as a sailor on an American fighting vessel. Along the way, he encounters such historical celebrities as John Paul Jones and John Foster Williams. Fox describes his sufferings aboard the Old Jersey prison ship and his subsequent escape.  

There are several illustrations.

This book is in good condition for age.  The leather cover shows wear as shown including cracked hinges.  The inner hinges are intact.   All pages are present and tightly bound. There are several illustrated engravings. The pages are good condition with no tears or dog ears. There is some foxing and occasional staining.  There is no internal handwriting.  A previous owner has penciled a 2 story house drawing on the endpaper.

This book measures 6 inches by 4 inches.  It has 240 numbered pages.
