Zhang Tingji (1768-1848, China). Formerly known as Rulin, was a beloved Qing dynasty official, calligrapher, epigrapher from Zhejiang provenance. In the third year of the Jiaqing era(1798) he placed first in the provincial jieyuan examinations. He was excellet at painting and calligraphy. He was able to seal, scribe, and was good at regular script. 

Zhang Tingji served faithfully under multiple Qing Dynasty Emperors. He was bestowed the title of "Honored" by the Emperor. He was number one on the gov't provincial examination. This seal was carved in fifth month of the Wushen year of 1848 at the age of 80 years old during the reign of Emperor Daoguang. The annotation is a wise proverb which means "Drunk and sleeping under the pine trees".
