This exquisite evening gown from Marchesa Notte is a beautiful example of an Empire style dress prevalent during the first French empire characterized by a high waistline, coming just below the bust, from which the skirt hangs straight and loose. In this example, the dress is executed in a blue matte silk with a faintly gray undertone. It features a 2.5-inch wide band of "jewels" under the bustline, the  biggest of which is close to a smoky topaz in color. The dress has one-inch wide straps that cross in back, and on the inside of the dress is a waist-length foundation with flexible bones and its own zipper that is finished just as nicely as the outside. The dress itself closes with a second back zipper. The hemline of this dress is finished on the bottom but is also designed to be customized to your perfect length. You'll find that the fabrics, details, and workmanship on this gown are comparable to a true couture gown, qualifying it as "demi-couture." Labeled US size 12.
