Crochet edge vintage antique Edwardian white  single bed sheet topper/ coverlet/ runner made of  Ribbed Cotton Pique with hand crochet border edge.

This is made to be used as a bed runner to fold over the top sheet - was very often an essential used when the Doctor made home visit so patient in bed had what looked like a nice fresh top sheet turned back.  - At least that was how such an item   was brought out on the bed of patient in well-to-do homes when the Doctor arrived on a house call as my grandmother recalled.  Otherwise hardly ever used and just kept in the linens cupboard.

This is an unusual survivor of the Victorian/ Edwardian era householdd linens.

Size:
Wide: 53 inches to fit and just drape over sides of a Single bed
Deep from selvedge to deepest point of crochet trim = 25 inches,
This rectangle shape  allowed the plain selvedge edge to be placed on the top sheet and folded in, ie  turned back inside the bed so that the nice clean crisp runner and  crochet  edge presented the bed as nice and fresh without having had to change the whole top sheet.

Condition: Excelllent, loads of future life in this fabric , hardly ever used and stored for decades in dry household linen cupboard in no smoking no pets household.
