Up for bid is an early Indian bronze devotional statue of an elephant with a platform for an idol figure. The figure stands 2 3/4 inches tall and is 3 inches long. It is cast bronze with a hollow interior and an unusual double ring base.  The figure is worn from many years of use, but the piece retains good detail.  There are no marks.

Condition on the figure is fairly good.  One tusk appears to have been broken off and lost many years ago.  The platform on the back is pushed down a bit and the sides are rolled in.  Regardless, a fine example of an Indian bronze!
