Very rare, and in excellent condition, is this ballot for Jefferson Davis as president of the Confederacy and Alex H Stephens as his running mate. This ballot is a "Virginia Electoral Ticket For the State at Large."

Jefferson Davis had served as a representative from Mississippi, Secretary of War under Franklin Pierce, and finally, Senator from Mississippi before being elected president of the Confederacy in 1861.  He and William Seward (attacked the night of Lincoln's assassination and the inspiration for "Seward's Folly," the state of Alaska) were extremely close friends.

On the back of this ballot is writing, which I cannot make out completely, as well as a name which appears to be Wm. T. Goody. This is interesting in light of the fact that there were 2 soldiers named William T. Goody having served the confederacy from Virginia. The final photo shows those 2 entries as well as the website I found that information on.  This pencil signature, if verified, would be a very cool addition to this already amazing piece.
