The Compass is a prop, not included in the sale.
A rare one, It has a Military connection having been owned by an Australian Navy Sailor who rose to the rank of Commander before retiring, purchased in or around 1935 he kept it his entire service till his surviving family sold it at auction recently.

I did find one similar that sold a few years ago, it sold for $8,000.00usd which is roughly $11,000.00aud and was a later model, my watch pre-dates his by just a tad, mine had the earlier movement and internal bezel locking mechanism with the Longine Logo at the 6 positioning, very rare indeed.

The movement is a manual winding 12.68z. The original Dial was dirty to the point of becoming a bit useless so I sourced another correct but poorly painted  dial to fit to the watch to make is useful but I conserved the original dial in a container for those that must have genuine original, it will come with the watch.

Included in the sale is the Extract from the Archives (Signed by Matthias Breschan CEO of Longines) and Certificate of Authenticity from the Longines Factory, you have to send your watch to Longines for inspection in Saint-Imier Switzerland to get this.

The Back of the watch has A.I.C. (Arthur Irwin Chapman) engraved onto it.

It was cleaned and serviced by my second gen watchmaker.

Why sell such a gem, I have moved on to other projects and whilst I used this for the last 18 months as a daily wearer, I now have a Rolex Silver Trench Watch for the daily wear. I just like wearing the older watches.
