A pair of beautifully made, silk satin pajamas (pyjamas, if you prefer) from the 1930s. These are high quality garments with beautifully finished seams and felled hems on both the pajama bottoms and the top. The satin is supremely soft and has a gorgeous lustre.The colour is a peach that leans slightly pinkish. I hand washed these shortly after obtaining them in a lot of 1920/30s clothing in the summer of 2022. The camisole top does not have any closures, and must be pulled on over the head. The straps are comprised of pairs of braided strips that are linked at the shoulders and affix roughly 1 inch apart at both the back and the neckline. The back features a dramatic split from the top to the waist seam. The waist seam curves upward in both front and back, giving a high waist or empire type effect. There are sash loops at the sides, which do hit Marisol at her natural waist, but there is no sash remaining. The bottoms have a 1.5” straight waist band with extending tabs that cross at the side—the back tab coming through a button hole in the front—fastening with small, pinkish pearl buttons. Note that this leaves a gap at the side (as seen in photo № 6). The waist could easily be made smaller (or larger, if you don’t mind the gap) by moving the buttons. CONDITION ISSUES TOP —a pulled thread on the left side (as worn) about 2” from and running parallel to the arm hole (see photo № 22, right ) —indentation-type marks on the back near the bottom (photo № 23). —on the front of the top, below the seamline: a tiny stain, and a missing or pulled thread (both shown in photo № 24). BOTTOMS —a pulled thread on the front, left side, about 6” below the front button (photo № 22, left ) and several small, minor pulls here and there on both top and bottom (see close up photos).
