Here is a lovely short slip or nightgown in a soft pink color (on the warm side of pink). It has ~¾” wide silk ribbon straps, and a ¼” ribbon drawstring, as well as irish lace style crochet inserts along the top of the bodice. It has hemstitched (drawnwork) gathers at either hip, with little ribbon bows at the front ends. Both the top of the bodice and the hem at the bottom are edged in lace. The material is either silk or rayon crepe - there is no spare bit of fabric for a burn test, as all the seams are neatly frenched or hemstitiched.
This appears to be an erstwhile ‘step-in’ or one piece camiknicker situation - if you look closely at the center of the bottom hem in front and back, you can see where there was once a connecting piece of fabric at the crotch which has been removed.
There is a paper size tag still present (but torn), which reads ’40’, but please consult the measurements below.
