Up for bid is a good-quality chased Indian silver low vase
or jar with repousse chased decoration. The
piece is about 4 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs 342 grams. It has a flared neck and a repousse chased
body with multiple horizontal bands.
There are no marks; it does test as silver.
NOTE: I am selling a large accumulation of Indian silver,
some Hindu and some secular. Some pieces
appear to be quite old, others seem newer.
I am not an expert on Hindu practices or traditions; any errors in the
descriptions are unintentional.
Condition on the piece is fairly good. There is a fairly large dent in the side, and
it is a bit crudely made. There are just
normal signs of use. A nice piece of Indian
silver.
