Volume 1 ONLY on Danish furniture design by regarded Danish furniture historian Arne Karlsen. Gives a very detailed history of the shifts in Danish furniture production during the 20c. The project was funded in part by the Danish furniture store Dansk Mobelkunst probably as a way of cementing the resurgence in popularity of Danish furniture in the early 2000s by producing a scholarly history. Beautifully illustrated covering the range of Danish designers and manufacturers.

This Volume 1 Covers up to 1950 with the work of Kaare Klint in detail and looks at the following designers: Poul Henningsen and Mogens Lassen, Orla Molgaard-Nielsen, Rigmor Andersen, Jacob Kjaer, Viggo Sten Moller, Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen, Borge Mogensen etc.
