Rare Alvar Aalto for Iittala set of three glass stacking bowls model numbers 9769 A, C and D from a set of four. These were originally produced by Karhula as models 3900 models 38,39 and 40 then released in limited number by Iittala. All three of these are engraved Iittala Alvar Aalto 56 which is what most of these bowls are engraved with if they are post war Iittala production. Approximate dimensions are 3.1x 24 x 29cm.

These are from the collection of Heinz Kossdorf who massed a collection of Alvar Aalto in the 1990s and published a book of his collection Alvar Aalto Mobel Die Sammlung Kossdorf 2002 although none of these bowls featured in the catalogue. A copy of the this catalogue will be included in the sale.

Condition: Smallest and largest bowl with insignificant wear, look unused. The clear glass bowl has scratches to the base and one surface chip in the interior 1x1mm.
