What we have here is a vintage SOUTHBEND No. 920 level
wind bait cast reel that is in EXCELLENT
condition, a 9/9 on the ORCA reel rating scale. This brass chrome plated beauty
is bright and shiny, nary a blemish to its finish, and operates smoothly. The
spool is made from green anodized aluminum, a classic in so many ways!
The reel makes for a fine collectible but
is certainly fishable for years to come! It has a gear ratio of 3.5:1, measures
2 ½” in diameter and 2 ¼” across the side plates, and weighs 13.3 oz. Features
a star drag, free spool, and a “clicker.” Made in the USA circa 1950’s.
