This comes from a wonderful estate collection of carved bears.  It appears to be similar to Japanese Ainu art and is similar to the style of Hokkaido.  I can't verify anything however, so buyer beware please.

I don't see any markings on this and don't know the age of this.  The collection this came from included items from the 1880s and other more contemporary pieces. 

The bear is just under  1.5 inches high and just over 2.5 inches wide.   I am not sure what the eyes are made of. He is not marked.  It looks like there is residual glue on his little paws.
