Paragon Bone China Trio

Tea Plate: 16cms (6 1/4" ins)

This vintage tea set was produced by prestigious English china company Paragon.

This elegant cup, saucer and plate is a pale blue colour and each item is decorated with a Floral Bouquet and extensive Foliate and Scroll design.  The trio is further embellished with scalloped rims and gold trim. 

 

Paragon produced many variations of this popular Floral pattern over the years. 

This charming trio has the collectable double stamp By Appointment indicating Royal patronage.

As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up.  The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time.

Condition:

The trio is in generally excellent vintage condition commensurate for age and use.  No chips, fractures, crazing or discolouration.  Just general but minimal wear. The saucer has one tiny white spot to the front on the blue band. 

 Colors, pattern and gold trim all very good.

Originally founded in the late 1890's and up to 1919, as Star China, the company had great success with their tea sets and tablewares. 

Paragon has been awarded several Royal Warrants of Appointment from successive members of the British Royal family dating back to the 1920's.

The company operated as a family business until 1960 when it was acquired by Thomas Wild & Sons, then through the 1960's to early 70's and with various company mergers into the Royal Doulton brand.  
By the late 1980s the name and patterns were absorbed into Doulton's Royal Albert brand with some Paragon patterns in production until the 90's.

The popularity and appeal of Paragon fine bone china has only increased over time.
