- Incredible hand embroidery runs around the entire border, 2 mirrored rows run through the center and all 4 corners have matching motifs. The precision of each section matching the other is a sight to see. You can see the two halves in the Second and Third Photos
- Geometric shapes and symbols in the style that informed the Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Folk art movement.
- Bright Red, Blue, Yellow colors with Hearts, Tulips, Flowers
- The Heart symbolizes the center of the home, Represents Love
- The Tulip Represents Faith, often used on Birth, Baptism & Marriage Certificates
- Set on a Dark Beige Homespun Canvas
- The center of the cloth is married together with a red and white stitching. Likely the cloth was from a loom that only made cloth as big as 25 in x 25 in and so they would marry pieces together for a lager tablecloth.
- Hand hemmed corners, hem stitched Borders
- Probably the early 1900's. These were often Made by several family members taking turns working on it for a wedding gift.
- Measures: 54 in x 57 in
- Weighs 1 lb. 14 oz.
- Some photos show the reverse side so you can see the hand work.
- Good Antique Condition. Clean and usable. Hand washed. Lightly pressed. It has a round blemish. See the close-up photo. Minor wear from use and age. The embroidery is in excellent condition but still has the characteristics of a handmade item with age. The Cloth has characteristics of hand-loomed cotton with little "Nubby" or "Bumpy" spots.
