This damask cloth is a genuine example of Irish damask, full bodied with a woven heart shaped leaf pattern in the weave. There is a center circle of twisting heart shaped leaves  then a plain area until it reaches the outer wider border of similar pattern, this is followed by spots and finished with a narrow band. The cloth is finished on the two sides with a selvedge  , the other two sides are neatly stitched in a narrow hem. A square cloth measuring approximately 156 cm by 156 cm.  I have had it stored for a number of years and it may need a refresh launder, it is however clean and undamaged, on examination I can find one very tiny stain which will probably wash out, see photo.

The heart shaped leaves may indicate the cloth is used on the marriage ceremony table.
