English description:
This rare and very detailed panoramic view shows the center of the city of Stockholm during the entry of queen Ulrika Eleonore in 1680. It depicts the churches, the castle, the harbor and all other important buildings in decorative colors. The view is further enriched by several ships, coaches and people as well as a royal coat of arms. This genuine copper engraving was engraved by Willem Swidde after a drawing by Erik Jönsson Dahlberg (1625 - 1703). He published it in his monumental work "Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna" in 1693. The engraving measures 24 x 58 cm (combined platesize, printed from two plates and joined) and is in good condition, showing some very light browning of the paper due to age.
