Original old Soviet Army officer cigarette case. 

Fine model of primitive Soviet art for the people. Looks like aluminum. A real item of Red Army WW2 art. 

On the top cover - badge "Guards", early type 1942, banner without fringe at the bottom. The badge is fixed with the original nut with the inscription "state mint". Such badges were issued to soldiers and officers of the elite and combat-ready military units of the Red Army.

Major of the Guard Gorban Petr Semenovich  (born in 1908) - Head of the Department of Military Communications of the 16th Rifle Corps of the Red Army. Major Gorban was awarded the Order of the Red Star  for personal bravery, good combat work and good leadership of the military telephone operators and radio operators of the 16th Rifle Corps in fights from the summer of 1941 to May 1943.
