Original
1893 antique color lithographed map of Greece, printed more
than 130 years
ago.
- The map depicts political
boundaries as they existed 20 years prior to the Balkan Wars of
1912-1913. The area north
of Thessaly and the Khassia Mountains was part of Turkey when this map
was published.
- There is wonderful detail throughout, including cities, towns,
submarine telegraph lines, and natural features, with an inset plan of
the Cyclades.
- Other amed places include Larissa,
Kalamata, Sparta,
Missolonghi, Morea, Laconia, Gulf of Arcadia, Negropont, Zante, Patras,
Athens, Hydra Island, Kalamata, Patras, Corinth, and Lamia.
- The image area measures 34.3 x 26.6 cm [13½" x
10½"], and longitude is measured from Washington and Greenwich.
- This is an original, authentic antique map, not
a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be
genuine.
-
It was published by George Franklin Cram, Chicago, in
1893.
-
