Original Vintage DOWNHAM BAT Road Safety Lantern Mid Century, Traffic & Railway Lantern With Paraffin Container

We are pleased to present this 1950’s red painted traffic lantern. This lantern would have been used to warn motorists of upcoming hazards, such as road works. It has three red Fresnel lenses around its sides, and an opening door at the rear. It can either stand on its base or be supported by a large hook and also comes with Paraffin Container

This lantern has a huge amount of character, with aesthetic wear and tear showing off its age and heavy usage. It would have originally contained a small oil lamp, but it works great with a simple candle or tea light.
