Designer Oscar de la Renta beautiful vintage glamour 1980’s tea length lemon chiffon party dress gown with sparkly black glitter polkadots!

Dress bodice is strapless with a fantastic big black sculpted pointy soft fine mesh bow on the top. It has a fitted waist. The skirt part of the dress has below the waist gathers that start on both sides of the curved princess seams in front and go all the way to the back. There are 3 layers of chiffon plus a semi sheer lining. The 1st layer is sheer chiffon with the black glitter polkadots. The 2nd and 3rd layers are sheer and have strips of stiff net sewn onto the hem edges to create more fullness (see pic). It’s 92” around hem edge. The skirt will twirl out on the dance floor!

The lining underneath is less full than the chiffon layers (66” around hem edge) and is a semi sheer yellow lining fabric. A petticoat / crinoline could be worn with the dress to make it more of a 50’s silhouette, but it would need to be less than 66” at hem edge.

Dress has a zipper in back with a hook & eye closure at the top. It has hanger ribbons sewn on lining. There’s an Oscar de la Renta label and a USA Union Made label inside.

Condition:

Dress is in great preowned vintage condition! The only reason I didn’t put excellent is because there’s a few small / tiny spots (see last 3 pics). Also want to mention that a few individual tiny pieces of the glitter came off and managed to get in between the layers of chiffon here and there at the hems (as seen in one of the spots pictures).

This dress is preowned and yes it has a few small spots, but overall - it’s in great vintage condition and so striking and gorgeous on!

Around bust (measured on lining): 32” Max

Around waist (measured on lining): 28”.

Around below-waist-seam (at gather line on lining): 34”.

Around hip (measured on lining): 50”.

Length on side seam (measured on dress): 40 1/2”.

For reference, the dress form I used for the pics measurements are: Bust 36”, Waist 25”, Hips 36”.
