This is a stunning piece of artwork produced in 1863.

Absolutely gorgeous, intricate etching around entire body of pitcher.

In person, this item is darker than in the photos. It is easier to show the inscribed design by lightening the photos.

Pewter, has some denting as is typical of an item of this age. However, I do not see any repairs, serious dents. See photos.

It looks like someone used some white powder to buff - perhaps they thought it was silver? I'm not sure. It remains in some of the cracks (see photos).
