Compact Japanese wooden folding screen dated to the Meiji period and features highly decorative inlaid panels and carvings of clouds, crane birds, bamboo, an assortment of flowers and a butterfly. Noticeably the theme of cherry blossoms, or otherwise known as sakura, is displayed across all four folding panels.
To the reverse side there is minimal decoration. The top of each panel with engraved lines visually creating a checkerboard pattern. Below this, as shown, is an inviting choice of fabric upholstery.
Suitable for making your space cozy and peaceful.

In a good condition with some age related wear overall, missing a strip of rick-rack trim.
