Marc Chagall GALERIE MAEGHT PARIS.- A color lithograph print of a Marc Chagall (1887-1985) exhibition poster for a show held in about June of 1954 at the Galerie Maeght in Paris.
- Classic Chagall image: A view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triumphe with a nude couple, and to the left a large bouquet of flowers near the top off center. Covered in multi-diagonal stripes of color in purple, plum, burgundy and yellow, green.
- Slightly bent corner lower right side, nice color vibrancy(You buy "as is", refer to photos available for inspection,
prior to bidding/purchase.). There is more border on the right than the left.
This version was printed by Mourlot (who printed the original poster) for Fernand Mourlot's Art in Posters. published by Andrè Sauret in Monte Carlo in 1959. This book reproduced all of the printer's posters for seven major Modern artists working in France in the mid-20th century. This book was in the French tradition of producing miniature versions of posters for connoisseurs and collectors using the techniques and materials used to produce the original works. - The print is 9 5/8" wide x 13 3/8" tall, Image is 7 1/2" x 12".
