This is a nice example of an early silver ring set with a Paul Ysart glass millefiori cane (or 'stone') that was made by Caithness Jewellery in 1970.

The ring measures 0.9 x 0.75 x 1 inches, and the glass millefiori cane measuring 1/2 inch diameter. The cane is set on a silver setting with the ring in the form of an elegant curl of metal. London 'p' hallmark for 1970. "CJ" maker's mark. British ring size apprx 'I'. Interior diameter 0.6 inches. Some light scratches to glass.

Caithness Jewellery was originally a collaboration between Colin Terris (who did the designs) and Paul Ysart (canes.) Ysart left Caithness Glass in 1972 after which Peter Holmes took over making the canes.
