Camera is in a working condition "of sorts"...please read!

*Someone with more knowledge of this camera may be able to get it into a full working condition*

All functions seem to work on the display screen - navigating through different menu settings and camera options etc. I can't get it to actually record a photo though. When you press the play button, it says no image. Different batteries and memory cards tested, to no avail. It sounds like the shutter is trying to fire continuously, but without luck...as if something is stuck perhaps?

Ive read about battery issues with this particular camera, but it just isn't my cup of tea to figure out.
