Here is an early hardcover book club edition of The Stand by Stephen King - it has seen better days. I believe the gutter code means this is from January 1979, published by Doubleday. Many faults: The dustjacket is ripped to shreds, has tape, the back flap is actually mostly there but torn off all the way. The book has a big scuff on the spine along with edge wear. The exterior edge of the book pages when closed are yellowed and in between two of the pages the binding is split. Those are basically the faults. This will be more clear than the digital photo shows.
