A Pair of Vintage Hand Painted Japanese Satsuma Pottery Vases.

Two extensively decorated pottery vases of bulbous form with two hand painted pastille colour enamel panels with gilt highlights depicting a Japanese court official and child on an ivory-coloured crackle glaze background with applied tassel-laced handles on each side, circa 1930.

The vases are 9 inches tall and about 3 ½ inches in diameter. They are in good overall condition with minimal wear to the decoration, but with a repair to each of the rims (see last four photographs).
