Fitting: Our tow bars come ready to fit, with all the required bolts, nuts etc. If it's your first time to fit a tow bar there is no need to worry. You can get in touch and one of our fitters will guide you through it. Tow Bar fitting can be simple and quick for those of you that can master any task, but it can be a little challenging if its you're first time. We'd always recommend you get an experienced fitter. All tow bars come with a step-by-step picture guide.

EC Approval / Certificate: EC approval is required on all tow bars for passenger vehicles from 1998 onwards. You will find the EC approval number on the tow bar itself. In Ireland & the UK this meets current requirements. In other countries you may also require a certificate for the vehicle paperwork. We do not supply these as standard, but they are available on request. There may be a charge for the certificate. Contact us for details.

Parking Sensors: Tow bars can cause issues with parking sensors. Depending on the vehicle, the positioning of the sensors and the type of tow bar being fitted, Most correctly located factory fitted sensors don't detect the tow bar, but it is possible the tow bar will be picked up by the sensors. On fixed type tow bars there is no way to tell if there will be a problem until the bar is fitted. Most of the time it's no problem. Detachable types avoid this issue as they can be removed when not in use. We generally find the tow bar neck is clear from detection, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Towing Electrics: Universal Electrics - A basic form of electrics suitable for most vehicles. Generally fitted by splicing into the vehicle wiring and connecting with scotch-locks or soldering them in. Most newer vehicles will also require a bypass relay to be fitted for them to work properly. The advantage with universal electrics is the low cost. We will highlight the best option wiring kit in the item specifics of the add placed. We do not recommend them for some brand-new vehicles as they can invalidate the warranty, but most fitters & Main Dealers still use the Universal Kit. Please check with us or your dealer prior to purchasing. Some models from 2017 on may require reprogramming by the main dealer after the kit is fitted. Contact us for more details.

7 Pin / 12N / Single Electrics: One Black Socket of 7 Pins - 7 pin towing sockets are the most common type of towing electrics; they provide basic light functions (not including reverse). They are generally used for a trailer or light board.
