This stunning 24-inch African beaded necklace features a round Krobo pendant with a French cross focal. This beautiful focal was made by skilled artists in Africa.  This bead is from the 1970s as a friend of mine brought this and all of my other vintage big Krobo back from Ghana. Unfortunately, when my collection is exhausted, i won't be able to get them anymore. This is the only one i had like this. I have had it 8 years, and i was waiting for the right color Krobo to come along. If you notice the small Krobo that are spacers between those beautiful wood beads, they are bicolor and match perfectly the rest of the Krobo. The elbow shape Krobo have thick writing  on them. I believe it's a zen pattern?

"Writiing" is what they call patterns and designs.

The bone beads were made by the Tandy company in the 1970s. They are species Bo Taurus, or domestic cow. They have a scroll design on them. This piece can be worn by anyone. When Krobo beads are worn in Africa, their is no destinction. Between male or female Krobo. Sometimes, i will make a piece a little more feminine for the ladies such as pink. Otherwise, my work is for men or could be unisex.

This necklace is on "double wire." Therefore, it does not need the guarantee that i put on other single wire designs. The clasp and components are heavy-duty stainless steel. Please view the rest of my African Tribal jewelry.

Thanks, Kimberly McNeice
