Vintage Josef's Originals ceramic lion ("sad lion") figurine. This is missing the Josef's label but does have a Japan label in gold script with the letter J identical to the Josef's label. The figurine is a bit over 4 1/4 inches tall nd approximately 5 1/4 inches maximum length across the base.
Note: there's a bit of dust on this that I neglected to clean off before photographing, however I will give him/her a cleaning before shipping. ;o)
