When I originally bought this bag at Macy's, it was more "see-through".  Over time, the the material has oxidized and it is now a more caramel see through.  It is very clean although some of the pictures make it look a little dirty.  It's just the plastic material.  There is no tag so I don't know what the plastic material really is, but it is very sturdy and has a snake-skin look.  The straps and lining are brown leather, also a snake-skin or alligator look.  It comes with a separate interior wallet that has never been used and still has the original paper wrapping on the handle portion.  The tote is one big large open cavity and the wallet is pretty flat with several interior pockets.  It is just about the same size as the bottom of the tote.  Although it was rarely used, it looks "worn in" mostly because of the color change in the plastic.  I took lots of pictures so you can see every detail.  This is a great, sturdy bag and will hold a lot of stuff. Can't go wrong when buying Michael Kors.   If you are interested let me know.
