This beautiful antique timepiece was made in Paris in the middle of the 19th century, and features a gilded cast bust of eminent French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau proudly mounted atop the clock’s classically themed case. The quality 8-day French movement has been serviced and, as well as striking every half hour and the number of hours on the hour, keeps excellent time. The exquisite brass dial has been professionally restored by an artisan sign writer, and the whole clock, whilst wearing a few marks of age to the wooden case, presents very well.
