The
original vaporizer lamps contained eight parts without liquid. The ornate base-handle and security ring
opening was made of a one piece cast iron upright. The lamp oil font with Vapo Cresoline
embossed on the side can be seen in the picture. The wick raiser is made of pressed tin and
brass plated. The typical cotton braided
wick was raised and lowered with the screw gear turn knob. The original glass chimney was of the same
diameter down to the smaller end that set in the tiny crimp gallery which this
chimney is a replacement. Directly above the chimney was a flame spreader that
dispersed the heat into the basin ring which screws to the flame spreader. Finally, the basin sits in the basin

lets out excess heat so as not to burn the Cresylic Acid.
