ORIGINAL ALPHA INDUSTRIES N3B Cold Weather Jacket

N3B - The Story:
In 1945, the US Army Air Force manufactured the Jacket, Aircrew, Heavy and Type N-3, the first of a long successful N3-style parka line. The N-3B was developed in 1958 from the N-3 jacket and was produced specifically for Luftwaffe members who were active in particularly cold weather conditions. The N-3B parka has a single-row button placket, 4 pockets and impresses with its ¾ length and its nylon twill outer fabric in the typical sage green. The padding is made of a wool pile fabric and the inner lining is lined with nylon. The integrated hood is trimmed with fur and lined with mouton. The hood slowly changed from the original wolf and beaver fur, to coyote fur and finally to a synthetic fur. The N-3B Parka is also known as the "Snorkel Parka" due to its hood, which can be closed almost completely thanks to the full-length zipper, so that you only have a peephole and the rest of your face remains protected.
