ROMANIA 50b ELENA CARAGIANI STOENESCU POSTAL CARD AVIATION DAY CANCELLATION - - You are bidding on one unused postal card portraying Romania 50b Elena Caragiani Stoenescu, who was the first woman aviator in Romania who flew in 1912 but was denied a Romanian license so she achieved her International Aeronautical Federation pilot license in France in 1914 becoming one of the first 15 female pilots in the world. The cancellation with Cluj-Napoca 17.06.1990 notes this date as aviation day.
