Silver Bullion “Gethsemane”
Gethsemane (from the Aramaic “Gethshmana”) is the garden located on the slopes of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, where there are eight olive trees. The name of the garden alludes to the possibility that in the days of the Second Temple there operated a winery for the production of wine and mainly a textile mill for the production of olive oil. According to Christian tradition, in this garden, the night before his crucifixion, Jesus prayed his last prayer and was tormented before being handed over to the Romans. In the Jewish biblical sources the place is identified as Emek Jehoshaphat. In Get Shemanim is located the “All Nations” church that was built in the 1920s. It is said that the church enshrines the Rock of Sorrow, on which Jesus said his last prayer.
Hundreds of thousands of Christian pilgrims from around the world visit the Gethsemane site every year.
