Concord was originally an American brand from the 40's, I think they had some ties with Lafayette Radio Electronics. Most of their equipment from the 60's and 70's was Japanese made, usually by Panasonic. I think I remember something about Harman/Kardon buying the name and that is when they went to car stereos and amplifiers. I remember seeing tons of it in Crutchfield catalogs in the 80's and most people who owned Concord car equipment had nice things to say about it. As far as whatever happened to the Concord name? Seems they just faded away.
