The speaker is brand new in the box, it has been sitting on a shell for several years. (Please see photos) The unit is still in its original plastic wrapping. It possibly may require a new battery from sitting for so long. I did not want to break the wrapping to test it. If it does require a new battery, they are readily available on Ebay or Amazon.
