This sweet piece of Anchor Hocking glass is called the Hoover vase and was made in about 1940.

It is 8.5 inches tall with a scalloped rim and bright red birds in a cherry tree on opaque white milk glass that glows green in blacklight due to manganese content, which was used as a decolorizer (it has a slightly lighter green glow than uranium).

These were made in white and red with several different designs -- nesting birds, flamingos -- printed in silver (on the red) and blue.

This is a cheerful, pretty piece on its own, or start a collection.

The inner rim is a little rough, but this is a manufacturing issue, not damage.

SHIPPING: I try to ship within 24 hours of your order. Multi-piece glass or pottery orders may ship in two days. I usually don't ship on Saturdays, though I can if you convo me before you order.

I named my business "Circular" Vintage as a nod to the circular economy -- keeping useful, beautiful items out of the waste stream and into the hands of people who'll love them. That mission applies to my shipping too. You may receive your items in "pre-owned" boxes and I use packing peanuts made from biodegradable cornstarch.

QUESTIONS: I usually respond to questions within the hour between 9am and 8pm Eastern Monday through Saturday. Please reference the item, just in case a link isn't automatically included.
