Original Victorian paperweight in the shape and style of the Leopard Gecko

Made in India

Probably Victorian in date (1850-1910)

I assume sand cast, some evidence to that on the underside, the modelling gives a hint to the area of production as it certainly appears more Gecko than lizard and the way the skin has been rendered looks like the amazing leopard gecko from india and the middle east. There are however over 1850 different gecko varaitions so bear that in mind that i might be reaching a bit with my attribution.

Its a great size and has a very attentive look about it, love these.

i feel this one is really quite old, victorian anywhere between 1840 and 1910 but I have to say at this point I am no expert, dating brass items is a bit of a minefield as a medium its been used for 100's of years!
