Shore Pine, (Pinus contorta var. contorta), is an evergreen conifer that thrives in well-drained soils in USDA zones 4 to 8.  This pine specifically flourishes in coastal regions, enduring salty conditions and coastal winds. It prefers full sun exposure and showcases its ability to withstand harsh coastal climates.
Shore Pine typically grows to heights ranging from 20 to 50 feet, featuring a picturesque, irregular form with twisted branches and shorter needles. Its needles are often dark green and twisted, creating an appealing visual texture.

Plant in well-drained soil and ensure ample space for its unique growth habit. Regular watering during dry spells aids in its establishment and growth, especially in the initial stages.

Also makes a great bonsai tree.
