Original antique map depicts General Amherst's expedition to Montreal in 1760 during the French and Indian or Seven Years War. It was etched by J. Gibson for the Gentlemen's Magazine. The map is a copper engraving/ etching on paper and is in good condition having just been expertly conserved. This includes cleaning, de-acidifying, and flattening. Not hinge mounted at all but instead held to the backing mat with mylar photograph corners. The sheet can be just lightly lifted out of the corners for framing. Museum grade matting now. The size of the map sheet is 8 1/4" X 10 1/8".  It was originally printed in 1760 and is an original, not a reprint. There is a number of Indian tribe names in the area of New York.  Three very small tissue paper repairs at several folds to reinforce them for the future. Oh, there is a very small amount of scotch tape residue (neutralized now) just into the corners of the sheet but of no consequence now.

Map looks much better in person than the photos show. Offsetting from the opposing text pages in the book these were in.
