"But we have received a sign, Edith - a mysterious sign. A miracle has happened on this farm... in the middle of the web there were the words 'Some Pig'... we have no ordinary pig."
"Well", said Mrs. Zuckerman, "it seems to me you're a little off. It seems to me we have no ordinary spider.”

"The book has liveliness and felicity, tenderness and unexpectedness, grace and humor and praise of life, and the good backbone of succinctness that only the most highly imaginative stories seem to grow." Eudora Welty

Here we offer the first retail edition of one of the greatest children's books ever, E.B.White's classic, Charlotte's Web, published by Harper and Brothers, New York, in 1952. This is the second printing without the "first edition" statement. The book comes wrapped in the highest quality newly-remastered facsimile of its original retail dust jacket, which you can only get here, printed on coated heavyweight bond. The polymer coating on the paper ensures the brightest colors and sharpest prints, as the ink sits atop the paper rather than being absorbed into the fibers.  Also included is a modern copy of Eudora Welty's 1952 "New Yorker" review of the book.

Lightly-soiled boards (please see pics.)  Intact endpapers bear a period inscription. Very tight and square binding; text and numerous illustrations are very clean, bright and crisp.  Dust jacket comes secured in a ph-neutral mylar sleeve, ready to slip into your collection.  184 pages, measures approximately 8.25 x 5.5-inches.

This American classic will make a wonderful addition to your collection or a very special gift.
