When I pointed to him his palms slipped slightly, leaving greasy sweat streaks on the wall, and he hooked his thumbs in his belt. A strange spasm shook him, as if he heard fingernails scrape slate, but as I gazed at him in wonder the tension slowly drained from his face. His lips parted into a timid smile, and our neighbor’s image blurred with my sudden tears.

“Hey, Boo,” I said.

Here we offer the first Book-of-the-Month-Club (BOMC) edition of Harper Lee's marvelous American classic,
To Kill a Mockingbird, published by J.B.Lippincott Company, Philadelphia in 1960. The book comes complete with its original dust jacket. This represented the seventh printing overall, reserved for BOMC issues, so the jacket states "seventh printing," but the copyright page has a "W", denoting non-retail. It is listed as one of 12 chosen by Encyclopedia Britannica as the "Greatest Book Ever Written."

Boards are very nicely preserved (please see pics). Intact endpapers bear a period inscription.  Very tight and square binding; very clean, bright, and crisp text. 296 pages; measures approximately 8.25 x 5.75-inches. Dust jacket is sleeved in a ph-neutral Mylar jacket and ready to slip into your collection.
