Abstract courtyard scene featuring a peddler in a bright blue shirt possibly feeding birds by American artist Estacien “Etta” Benjamin (1924-2009).  Painting is oil on board and signed “Cien.”  Back of painting is numbered 352.  This artwork displays a very textured, heavy paint application technique, which is characteristic of Etta’s style.  I’ve included artist bio with photos. Frame is black and gold; mat is ivory linen; made in Mexico.

Painting board dimensions: 13" wide x 17" tall.

Frame inside dimensions:  11.5" wide x 15.5" tall.

Frame outside dimensions:  20” wide x 24" tall.

There is a condition issue noted here and in pictures:  missing paint (1-1/4 inch) on upper left corner near matting, which can be repaired by an experienced restorer.  Original frame exhibits few nicks or dents - nothing major. Linen mat does have faint discoloration in a couple of places.

Please review all pictures carefully, as they are part of item’s description. I am not an art expert, nor has this artwork been authenticated.
