These are true Hand-carved  Hammered Dulcimer Hammers that are only 6" long which are also fitted with Sterling Silver earring wires, fashioned in place with 2-0 Surgical Stainless Steel Sutures drilled horizontally through the heels of the grip. They are functional hammers and they are fashionable earrings.

     These are a matched pair of Curly Maple Hammered Dulcimer Hammers. Both earrings also function fully as dangling earrings.  I recommend removing just the earring wire (with a small blade prying the little locking loop open) before playing them. Then reattach them with a pair of needle-nosed pliers to wear them again.

     Perhaps a bit smaller than any hammers you have ever hammered with, you can also wear them as jewelry to show your passion for the instrument. You can now wear your hammers as accessories to the festival, remove them, play till your heart's content, then wear them home. 

     As  jewelry, I have never seen anything like this before - or even advertised anywhere before.  As  musical accessories, they are fully functional, though shorter than 'normal'.

     But they CAN be played, perhaps best on a smaller instrument with only 2 strings per note, or perhaps on a Psaltery, or even a lap harp.  These will arrive with opposite- colored leathers glued on to the striking heads to make a softer sound.

     I will offer these for sale at a single, reasonable price.  If you are as interested or as independant-minded as I think ( or hope ) you are, go ahead and buy.  These would perhaps best fit an adult with a long neck. But then, I don't wear earrings, so it may not matter.

     I have made several sets of these earring hammers, ranging from 3 1/2 inches to 6 inches.  All my earring hammers will have Sterling Silver ear wires.  A  spare set of earring wires will be included.
