A rare Custom Firebird, one of the Original 16 Hot Wheels designed in 1968 when the toy was first introduced. Sold for a dollar, these 1:64-scale die-cast cars -- modeled after full-sized hot rods -- revolutionized toys forever.

With its low-friction engineering on the wheels and axels, the new little vehicles could race downhill on special orange track at speeds up to 200 scale miles per hour. Much faster than the UK Matchbox cars ever dreamed of being.  The “Redline” tires with working suspension, together with a high gloss paint process called “Spectraflame,” made Hot Wheels an instant hit.

They are hard to find, very collectible and most importantly, Very Cool.

With a slick blue paint job, it is in pretty good shape. We are proud to have her in the shop, but we want to find it a good home.
