THIS PARTICULAR ITEM: This is a very special item (to me), as it was my grandmother’s! So when I looked within to see how she’d feel with me selling this, I saw her smoking one of her Salem’s & then she just waved one of her arms at me & said: “Just sell it & get rid of it! What are you going to do with it anyway?” – lol… She was the best! :)
So (with my grandmother’s blessing), & even though this is a tough one for me to put up for sale because it really does mean something to me, it’s like she said: what am I going to do with it at this point? So up for sale it goes (& hopefully to a great new home!)…
So, the particulars of this item: This is a 1978 Keystone Everflash 20 Vintage Camera, & the camera itself is in fantastic condition! The box is a little worn (as to be expected), but what’s really awesome about this item is that it still has all of the original manuals, booklets, & papers that came with it! (in great shape too!) - See Pics!
But here’s what I think is the best part of this whole thing (& what I feel really makes this item legit RARE & truly valuable collectable piece (setting itself apart from all of the others you see listed) - It still has the price tag on it from S. Klein’s Department Store! – which was founded in 1905! I see A LOT of these cameras listed, but NONE of them have such a vintage collectable aspect to them like this price tag! – And it’s things like that, that make items truly collectable!! I attached a pic of the S. Klein department store back in 1936!
This is definitely a classic camera piece from the 70’s, & I’ve had this in my possession for a very long time (& took good care of it for a very long time!) - So because it means something to me, AND, the fact that it still has a VERY RARE Vintage Price Tag on it, I can’t just give it away (like I see so many of these people doing on here (which is just insane to me because this camera was $40 back in the 70’s!!) - Have some respect people! lol… This camera shouldn’t be getting listed (& sold!) for 4.99!! I mean are you f*cking kidding me or what!? - & then these people wonder why they can’t make money on ebay anymore… Collecting 101: Vintage items have value (& theoretically) should "increase" in value! - (you knew a rant was coming there lol)...
But seriously, it’s almost as if people are losing a true appreciation (it seems these days anyway) for vintage stuff, along with the special evolutionary value these items hold, which goes way beyond the monetary value, & that saddens me…
But I think there are still a lot of “older generations” out there who still see the "real value" in vintage collecting, & still feel as I do (which is the enjoyment, excitement, & awe of collecting (basically history & evolution!) - and maybe even some younger generations have acquired this trait as well (hopefully!). I’ll even throw a prediction out there: I guarantee you that ALL of this vintage stuff (that people seem to no longer have an appreciation for from a collecting standpoint) will one day not only become more valuable again, but it will soar! - as the decades keep piling up & all of this starts to become “super vintage” (& basically obsolete) it will then all become "highly sought after” stuff & probably reach (mind blowing prices!) - Life is cyclical! It always has been, & it always will be! - Unless we're all just doomed by the up & coming digital addicted generations... lol
So I think you know where I stand with this listing, there’s sentiment behind it for me, & I also think it’s honestly worth a lot more than what people are just “giving it away for” these days; & as I already mentioned, in my own collectable mindset, to me (as a collector myself) this item actually DOES have something legit on it that IS Very Unique & Rare! - The 1978 S. Klein Price Tag of $39.99! - If you can find that anywhere, let me know!
